Assistant Director (Tech), Principal Technician, Technical Assistant, Lab Attendant & Plumber/Electrician — Pak-Korea Testing Laboratory for PV Modules (Ministry of Science & Technology), Islamabad

The Pak-Korea Testing Laboratory for PV Modules & Allied Equipment, operating under the Ministry of Science & Technology (MoST), Government of Pakistan, invites applications for multiple roles on PPS contract in Islamabad. Positions include Assistant Director (Tech), Principal Technician, Technical Assistant, Lab Attendant, and Plumber/Electrician. These appointments support the PSDP project for establishing a national-level facility to test and evaluate solar photovoltaic (PV) modules and related equipment. Contracts are performance-based, carry all-inclusive monthly packages, and follow federal regional quota rules.


Role Overview

MoST is building capability for solar PV module testing, reliability assessment, and allied equipment verification to support Pakistan’s growing clean-energy market. The laboratory will handle sample intake, electrical and mechanical testing, data validation, and reporting aligned with international practice. What You’ll Do (Role Highlights)

Assistant Director (Tech)

  • Supervise PV module/equipment tests, plan lab work orders, and validate results against approved procedures.
  • Draft technical SOPs, safety checklists, and test data templates; coordinate maintenance of test rigs (e.g., environmental chambers, IV curve tracers, insulation testers).
  • Train technical teams; monitor consumables and calibration schedules; assist in vendor specs and procurement notes.
  • Compile concise reports for management and stakeholders, ensuring traceability and sample custody.

Principal Technician

  • Lead daily lab operations, set up test benches, ensure correct wiring and sensor placement, and log ambient conditions.
  • Implement preventive maintenance; coordinate sample handling, labeling, and storage as per QA procedures.
  • Troubleshoot equipment faults and raise service tickets; brief junior staff on HSE protocols.

Technical Assistant

  • Prepare modules/devices for tests (cleaning, visual inspection, fixture setup); run standard measurements under supervision.
  • Enter test data accurately; flag anomalies; maintain inventories for cables, connectors, PPE, and tools.
  • Assist in equipment warm-up, calibration checks, and post-test disposal/pack-up.

Lab Attendant

  • Keep lab areas orderly; support sample movement; maintain waste segregation (glass/metal/e-waste) and hygienic conditions.
  • Assist in receiving/dispatching samples and maintaining basic stationery and PPE stocks.

Plumber/Electrician

  • Maintain lab utilities: water lines, drains, compressed air (if applicable), wiring, sockets, MCBs/DBs, and earthing checks.
  • Support minor installations for test rigs, ensuring safe load distribution and leak-free plumbing for environmental equipment.
