Punjab Human Organ Transplantation Authority (PHOTA) is responsible for the preservation of life by controlling the transplant of organs and tissues within the province of Punjab. PHOTA is based in Lahore and sees to it that no transplant is performed in contravention of ethics, medicine or law and in line with the transplantation statutes of the province of Punjab.
PHOTA’S work is exclusively humanitarian. It advocates equitable service benefits for all citizens in transplantation and endeavors to eliminate criminal and unethnical medical practices. With PHOTA, an employee joins an imregulatory authority which caters for public health while respecting hume rights and ethical mdeical practice in the province.
