About Us

Punjab Prisons Foundation Lahore (PPFL) was established by the Department of S&GAD on February 14th, 1996 under the Charitable Endowments Act, 1890 but it could never be operationalized because of different objections of Public Accounts Committee and Government functionaries. However, the efforts continued and Punjab Prisons Foundation Lahore (PPFL) was registered in May 2012 under the provisions of Societies Act, 1860 on the advice of Law Department.

The ex-officio Chairman of the Society is Home Secretary Punjab while Secretary General PPFL is Inspector General of Prisons Punjab. First meeting of PPFL was held on 11.12.2013 and Minutes of Meeting were issued. Subsequently, several meetings on different occasions were conducted regarding installation of PCOs in 10 Jails and other welfare purposes.

Second meeting of Punjab Prisons Foundation Lahore took place under chairmanship Maj. (Retd) Azam Suleman Khan Home Secretary Punjab/Chairman PPFL in his office chamber at Punjab Civil Secretariat Lahore on 26th Feb,2014. Third foundation meeting held on 21st Feb,2015.During these meetings various agenda points for welfare of prisoners and employees were discussed related to Punjab Prisons etc.A good number of employees have become members who regularly contribute / pay their subscriptions to funds etc this foundation.Maximum possible care should be taken while dealing with all such projects so that no one faces any sort problem whatsoever either during or after completion etc.In this regard strict instructions have been given from higher authorities concerned etc
