What happens at each stage

Physical measurement & running

  • Height and chest (for males) are checked first.
  • Timed 1 km run: men 7 minutes, women 10 minutes.
  • ⚠️ Failure at this stage means you cannot proceed to the written test.

Written test

  • Objective/short questions aligned to education level and post.
  • Focus on English/Urdu comprehension, basic arithmetic and general knowledge, plus situational questions relevant to disciplined police work.

Interview (DRB)

  • Conducted by the Departmental Recruitment Board.
  • Assesses conduct, motivation, and understanding of public dealing on a busy rail network. The Board’s decision is final.

Leads teams at stations and in the field, enforces law, prepares reports, coordinates investigations and patrols, and manages crowd/security operations during peak travel.

Assistant Sub-Inspector (BS-09)

Constable (BS-05)
